ItineraryDay 1: Arrival at Keflavík airportArrival at Keflavík airport and pick up your travel documents. Transfer with Flybus (airport shuttle) to your hotel in Iceland's capital, Reykjavík. Day 2: Travel along Iceland's South coastTravel along Iceland's South coast visiting the majestic waterfalls of Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss, the Mýdalsjökull glacier and Dyrhólaey, the summer nesting grounds for thousands of puffins. Puffins nesting at Dyrholaey Optional Excursions: Snowmobile tour on Mýdalsjökull glacier, kayak tour from Stokkseyri, the Saga Centre in Hvolsvöllur. Day 3: Visit Þjórsárdalur valleyVisit Þjórsárdalur valley and experience the contrasting beauty of forests, lava fields and waterfalls. All of this natural wonder is in the shadow of the towering volcano Hekla. Visit Þjóðveldisbærinn, a replica of an old viking farm. Then continue on to Gullfoss waterfall and Geysir hot springs area where you will spend the night. Optional Excursions: Þjóðveldisbærinn farm tour, River rafting in the Geysir area, ATV excursion in Haukadalur. Day 4: Visit Þingvellir National ParkVisit Þingvellir National Park, site of the ancient Icelandic parliament and a geological wonderland. Witness the site where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates are separating. Then via Hvalfjörðurfjord or Kaldidalur highland track (4WD needed), continue on to the beautiful Borgarfjörður region and Reykholt, home of the 13th century scholar and Saga author Snorri Sturluson. End your adventure back in Reykjavík. Spend the rest of the day exploring the city, eating at one of the many world famous seafood restaurants or enjoy a relaxing soak in the mineral rich waters of the Blue Lagoon.
